German Music for Horn and Strings is the second CD from the Jacobs School of Music that focuses on the natural horn. Featuring performances by Jacobs School horn professor Richard Seraphinoff, the recording is a collaboration with the Genessee Early Music Society (GEMS) in Rochester, N.Y.. The group's first CD "Cornucopia" focused on music for horn and strings from the 19th century French repertoire. This companion CD features the German repertoire of the late 18th century including works by W. A. Mozart, Johan Andreas Amon, J. Michael Haydn, Carl Stamitz, and Giovanni Punto.

Additional period instrument recordings on the Jacobs School's FOCUS label can be found at this Web site.

The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Early Music Institute provides a comprehensive program in the study of historical performance on original instruments, supplementing performance with research and theoretical studies, leading to degrees at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The faculty consists of internationally known performers who specialize in the performance of early repertory.
